UNITS OF MONEY

PENNY
With 1st hand sign MONEY, and at same time put 2nd 1st finger hand, back forward and 1st finger pointing inward, with side of its 1st finger on lower knuckles of 2,3 & 4th fingers of 1st hand.

PENCE
Sign PENNY; then with 2nd hand sign PLURAL.

To make the signs for the various coins, first sign the number of pence (1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50) and then sign `penny' or `pence', and if necessary sign `piece' or `coin'.

If the various coins acquire `popular' names, these will be evolved on the same principle as that used or other measures, i.e. moving the 2nd 1st finger hand along the 1st arm from knuckles to elbow as the coin increases in value.
