Plural


PLURAL form of Nouns (e.g. girls, children)    (NB not used for 3rd person ‘s’ on verbs)
• 1 handed signs
Sign the noun, then in the same location and using the same hand, change to Y-h, th & 1f ptg inwd and fs fwd, then bring balls of th and 1f together to make Th 1f h.
• 2 handed signs
Sign the noun, then keep one hand stationary and sign PLURAL with the other hand (use moving hand if applicable).

POSSESSIVE form of Nouns

SINGULAR (eg the boy’s name)
• 1 handed signs
First sign the noun in the singular form; then keeping the hand in the same location, sign POSSESIVE (changing to CLOSED h., b inwd-upwd & fs fwd-inwd, with elbow raised, at same time by w-a and e-a jerk h one h breadth outwds).
• 2 handed signs
Sign the noun then keep one hand stationary and sign POSSESIVE (as above) with the other hand (use moving hand if applicable).

PLURAL (e.g. the boys’ mother, the children’s pictures)
• These should be signed
NOUN then     PLURAL  then    POSSESSIVE (as above) using same hand as for the plural sign.
